OPPO REALME 1

OPPO RealMe 1

Oppo’s newest entry-level phone isn’t even technically from Oppo,
but from a new budget brand called Realme, and is being dubbed the Realme 1.

Oppo is taking advantage of selling design-focused, entry-level smartphones online in
India while simultaneously mirroring efforts from another Chinese competitor,
Xiaomi. Look up Xiaomi’s budget brand Redmi and it’s clear to see that Oppo had some inspiration,
 starting with the sales model.

The Realme 1 itself is the typical budget Android phone. A six-inch 2160 x 1080p display,
running with 3GB RAM, 32GB of storage, an octa-core Helio P60 chipset
(four 2.0GHz Cortex A73 cores alongside four other Cortex A53 cores), and finally 13 and 8-megapixel cameras,
 back and front, respectively.

What’s the catch? Well, no fingerprint sensor, for one. However, you do get a (skinned) version of
Android 8.1 that comes with a software-based “facial recognition” feature. Regardless,
mobile payments aren’t possible with the Realme 1’s facial recognition.

The 32GB Realme 1 will retail for ₹8,990 ($135) while a more expensive
(and higher-end) 6GB RAM / 128GB configuration exists for ₹13,990 ($205), as well.
Both devices will be sold exclusively through Amazon India to start.
